Writer/Director (right): Shane Atkinson
Shane Atkinson was born and raised in Northern California.  One of six children, his work is often inspired by his early years growing up in a large, chaotic family.  Shane is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate Film Program.  In 2010, he was selected for the Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship.  The following year, Shane was a winner at the Columbia University Screenwriting Competition.  In 2012, Shane was listed on The Tracking Board’s “Top 100 Writers on the Verge.”  His script Penny Dreadful was also listed on the 2012 Black List.  Shane has directed a short version of Penny Dreadful that premiered at Clermont-Ferrand in February where the film won the Prix du Public (Audience Prize).  The film has also received awards from the Independent Filmmaker Project and the National Board of Review.

Producer (left): Rob Cristiano
Rob Cristiano is a Brooklyn-born filmmaker. He has produced eleven short films in a variety of genres ranging from science-fiction to dark comedy. They include The Painter & The Wife (Official Selection of the Dam Short Film Festival),  Il Barbiere (NY United Film Festival), The Science of  Blowjobs and Throbbing Hearts, Moons of Jupiter, The Glitch, Socks & Bonds, and Melon Head.  Prior to enrolling at Columbia, Cristiano spent five years at MTV, where he produced DVDs of the most successful franchises in the history of the channel, including Beavis and Butt-head, Aeon Flux, The State, Jackass, and Nitro Circus.  His post-production experience includes time as an assistant editor for numerous TV shows, as well as the feature-length documentary The Redemption of General Butt-Naked (Winner – Best Cinematography at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival).  His upcoming thesis film The King’s Pawn (dir. Jonah Bleicher) was recently awarded a production grant by the Sloan Foundation.
